Sarah is a counsellor (supervised), who has been working in the mental health and addiction field for the past 6 years in both residential and community settings.
Sarah specializes in substance use and behavioural addictions (hypersexuality, pornography use, problem gambling, technology/video game use and overspending). Sarah is experienced in working with concurrent disorders, with such diagnoses as Bipolar Disorder, PTSD, Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Major Depressive Disorder.
Sarah works with individuals and families who are struggling to navigate the challenges of addiction and/or mental health concerns.
Sarah uses an empathetic and non-judgmental approach to create a space for clients to feel safe being open and vulnerable. Sarah is passionate about supporting clients in addressing the struggles of addiction and mental health in a way that allows clients to feel validated and empowered to work towards their desired changes.
Sarah uses the following modalities in her work with clients: Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD, Functional Family Therapy and Solution Focussed Therapy.
Sarah is offering virtual counselling support to clients and is currently accepting new clients.
