Eating Disorder Counselling

Eating disorders may look like when someone has a tough time with food and how they see their body. We offer Eating Disorder Counselling for kids (8-12 years old), teens (12-19 years old), adults and families who want to work on their struggles with eating and how they feel about their self and bodies.

If you or your child often have a hard time with food, notice changes in your weight, find it tough to feel good about how you look, notice yourself or your child undereating or overeating, feel tired or low on energy because of how you eat, avoid being with others because of how you feel about your body, and/or have noticed engaging in exercising too much, eating too much food all at once, getting rid of food or hiding food or checking your body a lot, you may be experiencing an eating disorder. It doesn't matter if a doctor has said you have an eating disorder or if you just think that how you eat is making your life harder – our counsellors are here to help.

If these things sound familiar to you or your child, asking for help is a good idea. Our team of counselors who are experts in eating disorders will listen and help you deal with what you, your child, or family member is experiencing.

It's important to note that each eating disorder (such as anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, ARFID and others) can have slightly different patterns of symptoms. If someone you know is showing signs of an eating disorder, it's crucial to encourage them to seek professional help from a healthcare provider or mental health specialist who is experienced in treating eating disorders.
